Meet Dr. Menendez

Awards and Achievements

Dr. Menendez is a past president of the Florida Academy of General Dentistry. He served two concurrent terms as president of the Florida Academy. He is currently a member of the advisory committee to the University of Florida’s College of Dentistry’s Department of Continuing Dental Education.

In 2005, after completing 1,100 hours of continuing education — including 600 hours of participation in specific disciplines — Dr. Menendez was awarded the prestigious Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD). Dr. Menendez was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Florida Academy of General dentistry in 2008 and was subsequently named membership chairman of the state organization.

In 2009, Dr. Menendez was elected vice president of the Florida Academy and served as a member of the national organization’s membership council. Dr. Menendez’s commitment to learning and volunteerism earned him the Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition Award (LLSR) from the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Menendez received his second Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition (LLSR) in 2011 and his third in 2017.

Dr. Menendez is one of only a handful of other general dentists to have received three Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition awards. In 2013, Dr. Menendez received an award in Reconstructive and Aesthetic Dentistry from the Peer Reviewed Dentist. The Consumers Research Council has named Dr. Menendez in the list of “America’s Top Dentists” for 2005 and each consecutive year since then. In 2015, Dr. Menendez was named the Regional Director to the Academy of General Dentistry for Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. In addition, he was awarded the distinguished service award by the Florida Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Menendez is recognized as an official spokesperson for the Academy for General Dentistry. In 2019, Dr. Menendez was honored with the Frank J. Collins Lifetime Achievement Award from the Florida Academy of General Dentistry and is expected to receive other Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition awards in the future. His passion continues to be the pursuit of lifelong learning and sharing his knowledge and experiences with both dental students and patients alike.
