Panorex/CBCT (Cone Beam Computerized Tomography)
A “pan” is a 2D radiograph that provides details of not only the teeth but also the mandible, maxilla, sinuses and TM Joint. These views are extremely helpful in more complex oral surgery cases.
The CBCT or Cone Beam Computerized Tomography provides even more information in that is a true 3D radiograph. These complex films assist the surgeon in the most complex cases identifying the locations of nerves, blood vessels and sinuses with great accuracy. These films allow the surgeon to measure distances and positions of critical structure with pinpoint accuracy.
